Family and Friends,

SEPTEMBER 12-14, 2025

ATLANTA, GA

-Leo

I am excited to celebrate this milestone with you! I have been studying hard and preparing for the big day! So far, my Hebrew tutor has been quite impressed with my progress learning both my haftarah and maftir. And, I hardly ever roll my eyes at my mom and dad when they tell me I need to go upstairs and study.

I hope all of you are able to attend both my Bar Mitzvah service and celebration. As a reminder, a special room rate is available for out-of-town guests at The Hotel at Avalon. You can book online or call the hotel at (678) 722-3600 and reference The Richman Mitzvah Room Block.

See you in September!

WEEKEND DETAILS

Of course! We’d love for you to attend as many events that work for your schedule.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE
FOR THE WEEKEND?

If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to call or text us!

How long is the baseball game?

A Bar Mitzvah is a coming-of-age ritual for boys upon reaching their 13th birthday. At 13, a boy is considered to be of an age where he is responsible for his own actions and can fully participate in religious life by fulfilling the commandments of the Torah.

WHAT IS A BAR MITZVAH?

For Friday night services, slacks and polos or button down shirts are perfect for men and boys. Men and boys are also expected to cover their heads with a kippah for all services. (Don’t worry if you don’t own one, we will have one for you!)

For Saturday morning services, most men wear suits or sports coats and slacks. For boys, button down shirts, slacks, and even sneakers are appropriate.

On Friday night and Saturday morning, women and girls can wear dresses, skirts, or pants. Traditionally, women and girls wear clothing that covers their shoulders.

For the baseball game on Sunday, wear what you would wear to a game! Shorts, jerseys, and hats are all encouraged. If you are bringing a bag, it cannot be larger than 5 x 9 inches.

What is the dress code for the weekend?

On Friday night, services will end around 8 PM. On Saturday morning, services will end around 12:30 PM. The Kiddush Luncheon will begin after services.

WHAT TIME WILL SERVICES END?

A Kiddush Luncheon is a celebratory meal after the Bar Mitzvah service. We know you’ll be hungry after services, so please plan to stay and eat. If you need to pick up your child, we should be done by 1:30 PM.

How does transportation work on Sunday?

If I cannot attend every event, can I still come?

What is a Kiddush Luncheon?

We encourage all guests attending the Braves game to take the bus that is leaving from The Hotel at Avalon at 11 AM.

For out-of-town guests, you’re welcome to bring your suitcases on the bus, which will be locked while we are attending the game. This will allow you to leave directly from the baseball game, with your own transportation, to get to the airport. Alternatively, you’re welcome to take the bus back to The Hotel at Avalon.

How does transportation
work on Sunday?

The first pitch is at 1:35 PM. We expect the game to end around 4 PM.
